Financial Literation for Online Shopping Brakes by Tursi, S. IIP

Citing an article from paper.id entitled "Online Stores in Indonesia, Their History and Influence" according to Bank Indonesia data, it shows an increase in online shop transactions in Indonesia (Indonesian e-commerce) of 8.204 trillion, an increase of 135.8% compared to January 2018. This high number proves that the development of online shops in the country has grown rapidly. Everything is also influenced by the advancement of the internet which is increasingly accessible to all people in various regions in Indonesia.

Still quoting from the same article, online shops in Indonesia began to mushroom in the 2010s. In fact, in 2014 Tokopedia received US $ 100 million in funding and became the largest in the history of e-commerce, which made Tokopedia expand its wings in the world of online shops.

Apart from being influenced by the easy access to e-commerce, online stores are increasingly strengthening their existence in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More or less, the lifestyle of the Indonesian people has changed, including the online shopping style that has jumped dramatically to avoid traveling outside the home. E-commerce players also take many opportunities to take advantage of conditions, such as offering various attractive promos, discounted prices and shipping costs to offering lucrative prizes.

This condition, on the one hand, certainly benefits the Indonesian people. No need to leave the house, get discounts and low prices compared to buying directly at supermarkets or stores and can use various payment methods. On the other hand, this condition can result in Indonesian society becoming more consumptive. Then what is the solution?
